Deposit thieves .I rented with them for 2 years.They tend to take your large deposit with them when you leave.General overall recondition of old house(Character house) is unfairly put up on tenants head by taking away all his deposit.Taking my fight with deposit protection. Dont know how its going to go .------ Update after a month of waiting to see the house back in renting market.I can see my deposit is used to give new makeover to entire house.Repaint all the rooms Replace all fence panels in garden and to by new white goods.Replace kitchen sink and to do new woodwork in kitchen.The Agent initially said there will be some costs towards painting but it appears like due to landlord's greed for money hardings agent gave in and wants entire deposit (1800) towards above extra work.. Taking my fight up with DPS.

I have been using Hardings to let and manage my house in Brentwood for 16 years. I've never had a problem. Tenants have mostly stayed long term which suits me and when Hardings have had to remarket the property the void period between tenants has been a week or so at most. I just wish I could afford to buy another house for them to let and manage for me!!!
