I recently locked myself out. I have a door that locks as it closes and is left the key inside. It was a cold day and I was recovering from flu and didn't want to be out in the cold. I rang Brentwood lock and safe and explained what had happened and that I was unwell and they said they'd get someone to me asap but probably 30mins. Within about 20mins two people arrived. They jiggled a tool around and let me in in about a minute. No need to change the locks. I'm grateful thyst they were so prompt and helpful.

Seemed like a really nice service, changed my lock same day - great. BUT I explicitly asked for 1 key to be retained by them for me to pick up latter and two to be given to the builder. All three were given to the builder...they told me this when they phoned for bill payment only after I raised the question. They then did offer to contact my builder to try to get one back, or to refit my old lock, neither of which is really helpful as both builder and I need access, then told me I already had a 15 saving on my bill.. through as no firm price was given in advance this was impossible to prove. The only price mentioned was the cost of the lock 39.95 no mention was made of the cost to fit a further 80. I was really disappointed by their remorseless attitude to what was their error and to the fact that as the owner they left me without access to my own property. There is a trust issue for me in this. - We all make mistakes but I was left feeling really unhappy with their attitude to the mistake they made.- Eileen
