Absolutely DISGUSTING place- You HAVE to avoid. I went to THREE gps in one week with major concerns about my child, I explained that I thought he had symptoms of a brain tumour & they ignored me, told me it was a cough & refused to refer me. I went & got a second opinion privately and was told he did have a brain tumour. If I had listened to the doctors at beechwood surgery we would never have known. Complete negligence & unprofessional.
We have been with the surgery for last 17 years. We can see the deterioration of the staff. Most doctors are very good. But most reception staff are very unhelpful and no empathy towards patients. Now it's very hard to get an appointment with your own doctor. Had to wait weeks. Maybe the staff are under pressure but no need to be rude and unkind. What they have forgotten is that people are coming to the surgery to see a doctor because they are ill. Most reviews show the weaknesses of the practise. We hope that the practise manager take all these comments seriously and try to improve the service.
Ive been with this surgery since moving to Brentwood over two years ago and I almost always leave confused or angry and have nothing positive to say about the staff and doctors here. Needless to say Im changing surgeries something I should have done a long time ago. Absolutely shocking service from reception staff and doctors. The desk staff are so rude and horrible and spend most of the time chatting in the back office. We all know that doctors are very busy, and I try to be sympathetic to that, but if you cant handle the pressure and demands then find a new job. They take out their stress on patients and Ive been made to feel like Im a idiot or that my reasons for being at the GP were not important more than once and usually because the doctors have no idea whats wrong with myself or my son. I had one doctor give my son (who was two months old at the time) antibiotics for a 2-year-old which landed us in A&E, I have had one doctor tell me that my son had hand, foot and mouth (Ive been a teacher for 7 years and worked in a nursery for 6 years) Ive seen hand, foot and mouth several times and wasnt convinced but he is the doctor so I took his word for it.. only to call back later that evening because I was so confused by what the doctor said and find out he actually wasnt sure but basically told me that to get me out of his office.. I had another doctor there ask me what I thought was wrong with my son??? Another time the doctor said she thought my son had a viral infection and that antibiotics wouldnt work but then prescribed him antibiotics and an inhaler.. we ended up in hospital with him and the paediatrician at the hospital said that neither antibiotics or an inhaler would do anything for him. Any time Ive taken my young son here they give him a dose of antibiotics and send me on my way, most of the time having no idea what the problem is. Avoid this place!!!!
Excellent doctors, great care. It's not easy to get appointments. But, that's true with all surgeries I guess.
I attended this surgery for the first time with my daughter as she needed to have a couple of scans and was referred by her own GP.I found the doctor and the two support staff to be very respectful, friendly and helpful. As my daughter is young and was worried as she has never had a scan before, all of the three medical staff involved made her feel at ease, explained in a way that she understood and informed us of the next steps.I would recommend this surgery.
