Wonderful campsite tucked away in leafy Essex. Staff were very friendly and attentive, the grounds were beautifully kept and lots of space on each pitch.

A lovely campsite set in the woods not far from London. The facilities and staff are excellent. There's lots to do and places visit in the local area, which is picturesque

Very nice site, would definitely use again. It was a busy but quiet site with a clean and modern toilet block. The pitch we were on seemed large and the gap to the next was huge.

First night, good, but not sure about the friendly welcome mentioned in some reviews. I think 'dour' is the polite word for the wardens. No eye contact, no smiles. I think some customer service training would help. Anyway, site and facilities were good.Night 2. Got back about 6.30pm expecting a relaxing evening sitting in the sunshine reading. It was not to be. I returned to my tent to find that there were four children from the site continually running across my pitch, and abandoning their bikes there, and accessing the woods behind whereupon they spent two hours shouting at each other and worse, carrying hammer, chisels and screwdrivers and either banging them together or banging them on wood. I didn't want any hassle and asked if I could move to another pitch but there was only one available too close by to make it worthwhile moving. Despite the numerous guest house landlady type signs everywhere I was informed that nothing could be done about the behaviour of children on site. At much inconvenience I packed and left at 8.30pm and did manage to get my planned 3rd night refunded although I had only stayed one out of three.I was considering joining the club but in future I'll stick to quiet farm sites.A postscript to this. I made a complaint and it seems that neither the on-site staff nor the children or their parents were at fault. The only person who was, was me because I committed the sin of leaving after 5.00pm, so I didn't get a refund for the night I didn't stay.

A great campsite and part of the camping and caravanning club network. So very well run, with a friendly site team and excellent facilities. It is set in a quiet rural location with many walks available in the local area. There are a couple of pubs and a few local shops also within walking distance. So this site is a great place to get away from it, and once on site leave the car behind. As a result of which it is usually quite busy especially at weekends.Recommended.
